The Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan has announced in May 2010 that CNS 15357, which is developed by the Standards Inspection Bureau with reference to international standards, is the national standard for module safety specifications for LED modules for general lighting.
The new standard stipulates that dozens of safety requirements and test methods for the construction of LED light source modules, protection against electric shock, insulation and flame resistance can ensure safety and quality from the component end and improve the stability of LED lighting.
In addition, in the LED lighting products, because this is composed of LED light source module, LED control device, optical mechanism and lamps. The Standards Inspection Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs has also formulated two national standards, such as CNS 15174 (electronic module control for LED modules, electronic control devices for performance of DC power supply) and CNS 14335 (General Safety for Lighting).
These two standards, together with the new CNS 15357 standard, make the safety standards for LED lighting products even more complete.
