Recently, Air Liquide decided to invest in an ultra-pure ammonia plant with an annual capacity of 4,000 tons in Jiangsu Province. It is expected to be completed and put into production in mid-2011, and will provide the most efficient and complete industrial gas supply solutions for LED and other high-tech industries such as photovoltaic and flat panel displays.
The head of Air Liquide (China) Investment Co., Ltd. introduced that the ammonia plant will be designed and built by Korea's CoreTech. LEDs need to consume a large amount of ultra-pure ammonia gas in the production process. At present, most of China's ultra-pure ammonia gas is dependent on imports, and the delivery period is long and the cost is high. The commissioning of the Jiangsu plant will effectively alleviate this situation.
