Q3 LED backlight panel shipments continued to increase in 2010, large-size LED panels accounted for 43%

Industry statistics show that due to lack of orders and downstream inventory reduction, there is a situation of oversupply. Shipments of large-size LCDs fell 4% from Q2 in 2010, up 7% from the same period in 2009, to about 163 million. However, the shipment of panels for LED backlight modules continues to grow.

Due to the increase in the special transaction volume achieved by brand manufacturers in the search for low-cost solutions for the sales promotion model at the end of 2010, the shipment of Q3 LCD TV panels is still rising, especially for models above 40 与 and LED backlights. Shipments of LCD panels of 40吋 and above reached 18.1 million units, an increase of 13% over Q21; of which, LED backlight panel shipments reached 7.8 million, accounting for 43%, up 2 million from Q2.
