Robberback Out immersive VR Learn foreign languages good

An app called ImmerseMe can help students immerse themselves in a real language environment and learn a foreign language.

Scott Cardwell, the developer of App ImmerseMe, realized the benefits of cultural immersion during his trip to Europe - helping him to practice his language. So he thought, why not create an immersive and realistic way to help language learning? For example, VR is a good choice. But no one has studied products that combine VR and language.

So Cardwell and his partner Jeremy Hanff started to develop ImmerseMe. They took a 360° camera to travel across Europe and Asia, shooting a variety of scenes containing real people, such as ordering coffee at a German restaurant or buying a French bacon at a bakery in Paris.

After the development of ImmerseMe, it was put into the New Zealand Nielsen Girls' High School for testing. Students affirmed their teaching effectiveness. Student Rhona Aran said: "We can immersively try and buy bread in France."

Currently, ImmerseMe has released versions in English, French, Japanese, Chinese, German, Spanish, Italian, Indonesian, and Greek. The company considers that it will continue to increase the language category in the future. Both students and travelers can visit ImmerseMe’s website to communicate in various language scenarios in 2D format. The development team stated that it will launch a complete VR version as soon as possible.
