Aladdin Lighting Network: Professor Hao, hello! There is a saying in the industry that light is the mother of color and shape, and color and shape are the sons of light. Do you recognize this sentence? Can you explain the relationship between light, color and shape?

Professor Hao: Very recognized. Color is actually solid, material. Such as the color of the clothes, the color of the light source, and so on. The shape is actually the space, the color of the space becomes complicated, how can the light be used reasonably? These are all very important. It is better to create space by using light to better visualize the color. So light is the mother of color and shape. Of course, the opposite color and shape is the son of light. In fact, after affirming the relationship between the three, we cannot ignore the human vision. The visual senses of each person in each country are different. Everyone finds color through the eyes and feels the sense of space.

How to sense the material, the size of the space, the shape, the light is especially important. For the designer, the morphological design skills, but also the knowledge of the light environment design. Light is a technical thing, but also an art thing, but the use of technology means to achieve the purpose of art. Light plays an invaluable role in this regard. Therefore, if you want to achieve something in this area, you must have something other than light, and you must learn the knowledge of the light environment. This is a very rich design experience.

Aladdin Lighting Network: How should interior designers grasp natural light in light environment design?

Professor Hao: Natural light is harder to grasp than artificial light, because natural light is constantly changing throughout the day. The biggest difficulty is how to use natural light? How does interior design effectively reference and utilize natural light in architectural design? This is all the problem. Too much natural light is harmful to people and exhibits. At this time, designers are required to control natural light. In fact, there are many technical means. For example, glass, I can use UV-resistant glass or museum-specific glass, as well as morphological actions, such as window opening, including the glass itself's selectivity to light. To grasp the natural light, you must learn these things.

Aladdin Lighting Network: In lighting, the electric light source is the core, and the luminaire (illuminator) is a good lighting means or tool. In the actual operation process, many designers do not understand the light source, and do not know how to grasp the light source.

Professor Hao: I once mentioned a concept in a lighting hotel design lecture: the details determine success or failure. The light source is precisely the technical element that can affect the details. The light source is really difficult for the designer to grasp. The development of light sources is limited and can be mastered through learning. There are several kinds of light sources, and the characteristics of the light source can be learned through a professional website. Fortunately, the websites of lighting, light sources and lamps have always been open, and learning through the website is completely achievable. Practice is the standard for testing cognition, so designers need to strengthen their cognition. For example, in the actual environment, there are lighting fixtures and illuminators. We can observe it, take the initiative to learn, and ask the experienced people for advice. You can get what the light source is all about. Of course, the knowledge around the light source, such as the color rendering of the light source, the color temperature of the light source, the professional knowledge in these industry fields is also the designer must master, and there is no way to design the light environment.

A PLCC socket is a component that connects a chip carrier to an electronic circuit via surface-mounting or through-hole technology.
Plastic leaded chip carriers (PLCCs) are used in surface-mount technology where electronic circuits are produced, and components need to be mounted or placed directly onto a printed circuit board (PCB). The chip carrier is placed in a PLCC socket, which is either surface-mounted or features through-hole technology. A specialised tool called a PLCC extractor is needed to remove the chip carrier from the PLCC socket.

What are PLCC sockets used for?
PLCC sockets are used in surface-mount device (SMD) and surface-mount technology (SMT) applications. PLCC sockets made of heavy gauge copper alloy are compatible in high shock / high vibration applications. PLCC sockets made of rolled-leaf copper are useful in low-cost computer applications.
