Xilinx (NASDAQ: XLNX) and BEEcube jointly announced the world's first millimeter wave (mmWave) prototyping platform solution to support the innovative development of 5G applications. Xilinx's new 256QAM 500MHz mmWave Modem IP, combined with the BEEcube BEE7 baseband platform, provides a complete out-of-the-box solution for the 60GHz backhaul market, enabling designers to immediately implement innovative mmWave designs.

The BEEcube BEE7 integrated baseband platform can be connected to two 60GHz wideband transceivers and phased array antennas, which increases absolute frequency range and channel bandwidth for improved performance. In addition, Xilinx's highly configurable point-to-point 500MHz mmWave modem IP offers a variety of features including adaptive modulation and bandwidth, high performance LDPC FEC, adaptive DPD, I/Q imbalance correction, automatic frequency recovery, and hybrid orientation.
