Power Integrations today introduced the LinkSwitch-XT2 series of offline low power converter ICs, which offer high accuracy, high efficiency and excellent no-load performance. The LinkSwitch-XT2 IC is ideal for isolated and non-isolated flyback applications that require precise adjustment of output voltage and output current. The new IC delivers 6.1W of output power in a wide input range design and 9.2W of output power in 230VAC open applications.
The LinkSwitch-XT2 integrates a 725V power MOSFET, oscillator, simple on/off control, a high voltage switching current source, frequency modulation, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and thermal shutdown circuitry on a single IC. The power during startup and operation comes directly from the drain pin, eliminating the need for bias windings and associated circuitry.
Silvestro Fimiani, Senior Product Marketing Manager, said: "The LinkSwitch-XT2 IC is highly accurate, small size, high efficiency and excellent no-load performance, making it ideal for small appliances such as microwave ovens, Internet of Things (IoT), electricity meters, industrial control and intelligence. Small power applications such as home."
