In 2012, the automotive lighting market exceeded RMB 20 billion, which was mainly divided by foreign-funded enterprises. The level of automotive lighting technology in China is very different from that of developed countries. The number of key core technologies with independent intellectual property rights is limited and there are few innovative technologies.
The backwardness of domestic automotive lighting technology also limits the development of domestic automotive lighting standards. At present, China's national standards for automotive lighting can only be determined by some foreign companies, and in the formulation of international regulations, there is little to say because of lack of technical support.
Lin Yandan introduced: “In the past 10 years, at the world’s most authoritative automotive lighting academic symposium, the number of automotive lighting academic papers from China is basically 0, and there are very few Chinese scholars attending the conference.†For example, some German turn-induction lights used in high-end brands and models, German research began in 1999, but there has been no relevant research in China.
