The modern IONIQ EV pure electric vehicle battery system is located under the rear seat and the back box. The EP has a driving range of ~125 miles (~200km). (There is news that the 2018 driving range will be upgraded to 320km); permanent magnet synchronization The motor power is 88kw (110HP); the maximum power of the car charger is 6.6kW, and the Level 2 charging mode is 28A@240V. The IONIQ EV also provides the Level 3 DC fast charging mode (Figure 1).

A PRA (Power Relay Assembly) control (or also called a high voltage distribution box) is installed at the front end of the high voltage battery pack to control the high voltage circuit between the battery pack and the electrical control unit. The PRA is mainly composed of positive and negative main relays, pre-charge relays, and current sensors. The current output from the high-voltage battery pack is controlled by PRA (Power Relay Assembly). The battery management system BMS is integrated into the PRA. In addition to monitoring and controlling battery parameters, it is also necessary to control the air-cooled fan. The manual service switch MSD is located in the trunk area and the upper cover A needs to be opened to see the orange MSD (Figure 2).
