Summary:

The new BCM6123TD1E2663Txx is a high-density, high-efficiency, fixed-ratio DC-DC converter module in a ChiP package that provides an isolated safety ultra-low voltage (SELV) 24V secondary output with a 384VDC rated operating input voltage. The new BCM6123ChiP is available in a 61mm x 23mm x 7.26mm through-hole package.

The introduction of the new BCM6123TD1E2663Txx will further enrich Vicor 's family of high-voltage bus converters, which will include K=1/8 (384-48VNOM), K=1/32 (384-12VNOM) and new ones highlighted in the table below. K = 1/16 (384-24 VNOM).

Designed for industrial, telecom and lighting applications, Vicor 's family of high voltage bus converters provides system designers with a simple, low-cost way to create 12V, 24V and 48V universal bus voltages directly from 384VDC.

Based on a patented sinusoidal amplitude converter topology, the high-voltage BCMChiP not only achieves 98% peak efficiency, but also achieves a power density of 2400W per cubic inch. These highly flexible modules can be easily incorporated into high power arrays, and the outputs can be serially arranged for higher VOUT. In addition, the high-voltage BCM not only provides an analog signal interface or a digital signal interface, but all products support an operating temperature range of -40 to 100 °C.

Vicor 's BCMs are all bidirectional, allowing designers to integrate this unique feature into new designs and enhance system functionality.

Finally, the high-voltage BCM also helps designers use the low-AC impedance of the sinusoidal amplitude converter relative to the downstream regulator to reduce the large capacitance required for the load position, effectively "reflecting" the capacitance of the entire module.

With the latest K=1/16 model, a 500μF 24V point-of-load capacitance can be effectively provided by 2μF on the primary side of the module.
