Since the launch of the 2016 HoloLens Developer Edition, users have been waiting for the second generation of HoloLens for the past two years. Now, with Apple, Samsung, Google and Magic Leap coming soon with AR or hybrid reality helmets, Microsoft may finally be ready to launch the next generation of revolutionary products.
According to foreign media Thurrott, a Microsoft internal document on the HoloLens project shows that the device will be lighter, more comfortable, and will "significantly improve holographic display." But most importantly, its cost will be much lower than the current version of HoloLens.
At this time, we don't know the exact date of the release, and whether the release is a general commercial release or a limited supply kit for developers. But it is undeniable that Microsoft is approaching the MR/VR market and seeing it as a winning market.
