According to Jiang Bingrong, the National Development and Reform Commission’s Director of Central Resources Development, there are 1.4 billion incandescent lamps in China. If they are all replaced with LED energy-saving lamps, they will be able to save 48 billion kwh/year.

Xu Zhiqiang, deputy director of the National Energy Conservation Center, said that under the support of the National Development and Reform Commission “China gradually phase out incandescent lamps and speed up the promotion of energy-saving lamp projects”, the National Energy Conservation Center has completed the development of 10 best practice examples of efficient lighting energy-saving technologies. Such as "high-power LED stage lighting in the Chang'an Grand Theater application" case, after the use of LED stage lighting, lighting power consumption decreased by 83%, brightness increased by 1 times, the stage temperature dropped significantly, air conditioning energy consumption and operation and maintenance costs fell The comfort and safety of the stage have been greatly improved; in the case of “Application of LED Self-Dimmable Luminaires in Public Area Lighting”, the Department of Education of Hebei Province has converted the lighting of public areas such as corridors and underground garages into LED self-dimming lamps. People come to light, people automatically control the dark silent light, comprehensive energy-saving rate of 90.3%, investment recovery period of 2 years. The annual lighting of the underground garage in Beijing is about 500 million kWh. If it is converted into a LED smart lamp, it can save 450 million kWh.

It is reported that in 2010 lighting electricity consumption accounted for 13% of the country’s total electricity consumption. It can be predicted that China's lighting demand will still have a strong growth trend in the future.
