China Guangdong Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. and French Enterprises Sign Contracted Medium-sized Nuclear Power Plant

A French power spokesman said on the 13th, the French power and French nuclear engineering company Areva has signed a preliminary agreement with the China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group (China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group), will jointly design and build a medium-sized nuclear power plant.

Xinhua Overseas Finance quoted the spokesperson as saying that the above-mentioned three parties have signed a cooperation agreement, but it is still at the initial stage of development and is still in the conceptual stage. The spokesperson added that the three companies signed a nuclear power plant development project with an installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts last month, but the location of the project has not yet been selected.

Areva declined to comment.

Right now, the footsteps of the approval of China's nuclear power have reopened, but it is not clear whether the proposed project is a new approval project.

Reuters quoted Sun Qin, chairman of China National Nuclear Corporation, as saying that although the approval of China's nuclear power has been thawed, the pace of approval of nuclear power will be greatly slowed down.

Sun Qin also mentioned the pace of listing: CNNC, China National Nuclear Corporation and China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group all have listing plans, but the relevant departments are in control of the listing rhythm, the current IPO of CNNC is in progress, and more consideration will be given to the listing of A shares.
