The construction of the 750 kV Yan'an substation, the nation's highest voltage class smart substation located in Luochuan County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province, is proceeding smoothly. At present, the station civil engineering project has completed 90% of the amount of work, electrical engineering completed the main transformer, 750 kV equipment installation, installation and commissioning of secondary equipment. The substation is one of the first four pilot smart substations of the State Grid Corporation and is expected to be put into operation in March next year, which will play an important role in guiding the nation’s smart grid construction.

The substation was constructed by Shaanxi Transmission and Distribution Engineering Company. On November 18, Lei Jianguo, manager of Yan'an Transformation Project of Shaanxi Transmission and Transformation Engineering Company, told the China Energy News reporter: "As the nation's highest voltage class smart substation, the 750 kV Yanan substation has a high technological content, and many technologies and equipment are domestic. The station is designed to use smart primary equipment to achieve on-line detection, fault diagnosis, status overhaul and operation of intelligent control. Intelligent station power system is adopted to realize the informatization, automation and interaction of low-voltage AC power supply. DC integrated system integrates DC power supply, inverter power supply, and communication power supply system to form a unique DC power supply, highlighting the characteristics of smart substations.

The station's 750kV structure does not have a temperature expansion joint, which saves an area of ​​3.7 acres; the 330kV structure does not have temperature slots in the longitudinal direction, saving an area of ​​0.56 mu. The station has many optical cables, less cables, and a high degree of automation. The design integrates two 750-kilovolt relay rooms into one, and integrates three 330-kilovolt relay rooms into one, reducing the total construction area by 190 square meters, reflecting the “resources”. "Saved, environment-friendly, industrialization," the salient features. In addition, for the first time, for the loess, the station adopted the construction plan of deep-deep compaction piles and bored piles for the first time to eliminate the collapsible impact of loess and improve the pull-out and compressive bearing capacity of bored piles. In the smart grid technology and advanced equipment applications, all have an important role in leading and demonstrating.

The 750-kilovolt Yanan substation covers an area of ​​13.74 hectares and a building area of ​​1505 square meters. In the current period, a group of 2100 megavolt-ampere main transformers will be installed, and two groups in the long-term; 750-kilovolt line will have two rounds of the current period, eight long-term forwards, 330 kilovolts of outgoing line four times in the current period, and 12 long-term forwards. It is of great significance to meet the power supply load in northern Shaanxi and the access of large-scale power plants such as Yan'an, and to strengthen the main network structure in Shaanxi. The project started in April 2009.

Since the start of construction, Shaanxi Transmission and Transformation Engineering Corporation has made Yan'an Transforming Construction the key project in the past two years, strengthened organization and leadership, established the leading group for Yan'an Smart Transformation and established five special teams to organize construction planning and coordinate resource allocation. Priority will be given to guaranteeing the supply of people, materials, and materials, conducting comprehensive inspections of safety, quality, progress, civilized construction, and archives, and continuously advancing the progress of the project.

On April 6, 2010, the lifting of the 750 kV truss was fully rolled out. Lifting tasks total 66 cranes (times), including 32 cranes (times), columns 34 cranes (times), beam spans up to 52 meters, column maximum net weight 31 tons, spans and weights of lifting operations are under construction and under construction 750 thousand Volt power station works the most. The company used a 250-ton crawler crane and a 50-ton crane double-lift method. It took only 11 days to complete the lifting work with a total weight of 1200 tons, creating a new record for large substation lifting.

Up to now, the project inspection pass rate is 100%, and physical sampling meets the current standards, procedures and specifications of the State Grid Corporation of China.
