Sandy Bridge's top mobile quad core retail listing

In the retail market, the single-selling notebook processor is rare, so every time it can make people "excited". Today we have seen two newly released models of the Sandy Bridge family. One is the high-end quad-core Core i7-2860QM, and the second is the entry-level dual-core Celeron B840.

The Core i7-2860QM is the top model of the Sandy Bridge family except for the Extreme Edition. It has four cores and eight threads, an original frequency of 2.5GHz, and a dynamic acceleration frequency of up to 3.6GHz. The L3 cache capacity is a full 8MB. Integrated graphics core HD Graphics 3000, dynamic frequency 650-1300MHz, memory support dual channel DDR3-1600 (maximum capacity 32GB), a variety of technologies readily available, thermal design power 45W.

Celeron B840 is an entry-level product, dual-core dual-threaded, clocked at 1.9GHz and does not support dynamic acceleration, only 2MB of three-level cache, graphics core for HD Graphics, dynamic frequency 650-1000MHz, memory support reduced to DDR3-1333 (Maximum capacity of 16GB), technical support only cut the most basic of VT-x, EMT64, thermal design power consumption is still 35W.

In the package form, Core i7-2860QM has two kinds, namely 37.5×37.5 millimetres of rPGA998, 31.0×24.0 millimetres of BGA1224, Celeron B840 only has 37.5×37.5 millimetres of rPGA988B, but both can be used in Socket G2 socket on the motherboard, such as Supermicro X9SCV-Q and the like.

The official wholesale prices of the Core i7-2860QM and Celeron B840 are US$568 and US$86 respectively. Currently, they are sold at 77,350 JPY and 32,370 JPY at the Akihabara Market in Japan, which is approximately RMB 6,480 and RMB 2,710, respectively. Purchased separately, the price is about 3980 yen, about 330 yuan.
