Microsoft Illumi Room is an interesting immersive digital experience concept that integrates projective mapping depth into the home through a Lightform projector.
Lightform projectors have a built-in processor and a high-resolution camera. Unlike ordinary projectors, they can scan objects in the room and project the content to a precise location. That is, Lightform can "digitalize" the surface of any ordinary object, making them more interesting.

Although the concept of Lightform projectors and IllumiRoom is still in the laboratory stage, Microsoft clearly has greater expectations. Lightform co-founder Raj Sodhi said that the equipment is expected to be officially launched this summer, and the final performance can identify large-sized objects such as Christmas trees. In other words, in the future, you don't have to decorate your own Christmas tree. Direct projection is just fine.
At present, it is not clear at what price the Lightform projector will be sold, but the key to determining whether it will succeed is how to inspire the developers and bring about innovative applications and experiences.
