Intel Thunderbolt fully erupted in April

The Intel Thunderbolt interface technology has been released for almost a year, but it has always been a little bit of thunder and rain, and there are too few actual products and they are all limited to high-end professional fields, but it seems that the situation has finally changed. Intel recently informed its partners that a number of first-tier PC makers are preparing to release motherboards, notebooks, and desktops with Thunderbolt interfaces in April 2012.

In order to accelerate the standardization of Thunderbolt technology, Intel is in-depth cooperation with Apple, which is also the first manufacturer to put this technology into practical use.

The Thunderbolt chip costs more than $20 and conflicts with USB 3.0 in the next generation of data transmission. As a result, the announcement was not generally welcomed by the IT industry, but as Apple introduced it to its monitor, the MacBook Pro. Air/Mini notebooks and iMac all-in-one machines have stimulated the increase in market demand, and Intel is already ready to push it to a broader consumer market.

Sony has already introduced Thunderbolt in its notebooks. Asustek plans to test the water first in high-end notebooks. Gigabyte, which has always been relatively new to new technologies, will also release motherboards with Thunderbolt interface in April next year, and Asustek and his younger brother. ASRock starts to compete.

People in the industry believe that the cost of Thunderbolt technology will be reduced to a reasonable level in the second half of 2012 before the standardization can be gradually achieved.
