Elhassan said: “We have the opportunity to go deep into the world creation and film story and create a universe that we think exists only in virtual reality.”

There were a few studios that had tried to make virtual reality social, and these were possible: "Oculus built Toybox," a shared space where you can play toys and building blocks on your desktop with your friends; "AltspaceVR" Provides a digital venue for avatars to interact with users in a virtual role. Companies like High Fidelity and Linden Lab are hoping to create a continuous virtual world, just like the virtual reality described by science fiction and film.

Frank Biocca, a human-computer interaction researcher at Syracuse University, said: Compared with computer monitors, virtual reality can more effectively transfer users to another world. Biocca also wrote the book "Communication in the Age of Virtual Reality." Adding social elements to the virtual reality experience can greatly improve user immersion.

Biocca said: "The user's presence is enhanced. If they know these roles, if they know who these virtual avatars are, then they will have a greater sense of belonging to this virtual environment."

Elhassan and Cory Strassburger worked in the film industry before setting up Kite & Lightning in 2013. After the establishment of the studio, they created the popular virtual reality experience "Senza Peso" and experience content created for other business partners. Elhassan said that they have conducted many short projects, which led them to discover what works in virtual reality and what does not work.

They believe that the interaction between games and movies is the starting point of virtual reality. Bebylon: Battle Royale combines story narrative and interactivity to allow players to explore as much as they can.

High Fidelity and Linden Lab's virtual world have their own place. Biocca believes that multiple social worlds that can provide different environments will also have their own living space. Kite & Lightning currently does not intend to allow players to make any major adjustments to the game world, but they encourage players to customize their own character image.
