On Monday, the Korea Institute of Electronic Skills (KERI) showed that Korean scientists have announced a minimally invasive skill that targets tumor cells and uses light-emitting diodes ( LEDs ) and laparoscopy to diagnose and treat cancer. .
Recently, minimally invasive treatment and diagnosis methods, such as photodynamic therapy (PDT) and laparoscopy, have greatly improved the quality of patients' lives and have been rapidly developed.
PDT is a technique that uses photosensitizers to "activate" certain types of light to help promote healing. This skill is more effective because light only targets cancer cells rather than normal cells.
Officials at the Korea Electronics Skills Institute (KERI) have shown that KERI's skills are to use LED light to detect cancer cells and to use a PDT laser based on laparoscopic skills to treat cancer.
KEI researcher Bae Su-jin said, "The laparoscopic PDT treatment is the next generation of treatment that can have a serious impact on the mass medical industry."
Now, the Korea Electronic Skills Institute is transferring related skills to a local company.
