Munich, Germany, August 3, 2015 – Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) announced the delivery of 10 million high-frequency radar chips. This 77 GHz chip is suitable for radar driving assistance systems that recognize objects within a distance of 250 meters. According to Infineon's estimates, in 2014, almost half of the 77 GHz radar systems used in vehicles used Infineon technology.

According to a recent report by market research firm IHS Technology, Infineon is the global leader in the 77 GHz chip market, and 77 GHz is the standard frequency range for radar applications such as adaptive cruise control and collision warning.
