The frequency of the traditional analog oscilloscope signal bandwidth is limited by the cathode ray tube and cannot be too high. It is difficult to measure the slow signal or the single transient signal. The pre-trigger function is difficult to implement and the waveform processing is digitally processed and analyzed. There are limitations in many application areas. With the rapid development of science and technology, the capture, measurement and research of single-shot signals have received more and more attention and attention. In the information field, high-speed computers, high-speed data communication and high-speed digital integrated circuits and their systems, hardware is faced. Software, and sporadic failures caused by the combination of hardware and software, there is an urgent need for higher speed oscilloscopes to solve these problems. With the development of digital integrated circuits and high-performance microprocessor technology, digital storage oscilloscopes (DSOs) have emerged. The entire system of the digital storage oscilloscope is automatically adjusted by the microprocessor with the support of the corresponding software, including automatic settings, automatic measurement, automatic correction, waveform storage, computer I / O and print output. The emergence of digital storage oscilloscopes has opened up a new era of oscilloscopes, which lays a solid foundation for the oscilloscope's intelligence, and it also marks the development of oscilloscopes into a new era.

At the same time, waveform generators are also an indispensable tool for electronic engineers, often referred to as signal generators, which provide the required excitation signals for the circuit as a signal source during teaching experiments or practical work. Essential tool. The development of modern new signal generators is carried out by direct digital frequency synthesis (DDS) technology, which is the symbol of the third generation of frequency synthesis technology. The main feature is that computers participate in frequency synthesis, which can be implemented by software or by software. Hardware to implement, or a combination of the two.

The multi-purpose hand-held oscilloscope developed in this design is based on the mixed signal programmable chip PSoC platform produced by Cypress. The chip not only integrates 51 microcontrollers, but also integrates various digital modules and analog modules. Each module can communicate with each other through the internal bus of the system, so the whole system can be completed with only one chip and a few peripheral circuits. .

1.2 Project Background / Motivation

Most of the oscilloscopes on the market today are desktop, which are too bulky and cumbersome to carry. They are inconvenient for applications in small and narrow applications, and are limited in applications for working at heights and other special occasions. The price of thousands of tens of thousands or even tens of thousands of yuan is not acceptable to everyone. In addition, there are fewer oscilloscopes on the market, and the functions are single, the price is high, most of the sampling rate is low, and the practical application value is not large.

This project is based on this background. It is developed by using the mixed signal programmable chip PSoC platform produced by Cypress of the United States. It can effectively reduce the peripheral circuits, making the oscilloscope light and exquisite, and adding low frequency. The signal generator function makes the oscilloscope not only have oscilloscope functions, but also integrates the functions of the signal generator.
