CSA International and VDE jointly organize LED seminars

Recently, VDE and CSA International, two world-renowned testing and certification organizations, jointly held seminars on lamps and LED technology. The certification experts from VDE and CSA introduced the latest safety standards for LED products in Europe and North America. A total of 90 guests from 60 companies attended the seminar.

At the seminar, Mr. Guan Yuqian, lighting safety engineer of CSA International, in his speech deeply analyzed the electric shock, fire and eye damage that may be caused by the problems of LED lighting itself. He believes that these potential threats make the testing and certification of LED luminaries necessary to protect the lives of users. CSA International has launched a complete certification service to help manufacturers more successfully sell LED lighting products in the North American market.

Mr. Frank Herder, VDE Global Service Lighting and Parts Technology Manager, introduced the safety requirements and applicable standards for LED luminaires, photobiosafety and related standards for obtaining VDE logos, and detailed EMC and EMF requirements. It is worth mentioning that he also emphasized ecological design and environmental protection, as well as a detailed description of how to measure the efficiency of lighting fixtures. He pointed out that after understanding the formula for calculating the efficiency of lighting fixtures, companies will know where to start energy saving, which will help them produce energy-efficient lighting products.
