Astro Boy Steps Forward to 32nm: Atom D2500/D2700

Without any indication, and completely different from what people generally expected, Intel quietly introduced a new generation of desktop-level portal "Cedar Trail-D". The processor includes Atom D2500 and Atom D2700. This is the first time Atom has adopted it. 32nm process manufacturing, while allowing "Intel to give up Atom brand" rumors broke.

The corresponding mobile platform Cedar Trail-M and processors Atom N2600, Atom N2800 will be launched later, roughly sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.

Atom D2500 is a dual-core, dual-threaded, 1.86GHz clock speed, 1MB secondary cache, 400MHz graphics core, 10W thermal design power, and a $42 wholesale price.

The Atom D2700 is dual-core, four-threaded, clocked at 2.13GHz, has a 1MB triple cache, a graphics core frequency of 640MHz, a thermal design power consumption of 10W, and a 1,000-unit wholesale price of $52.

Atom D2000 series graphics core from PowerVR SGX545, hardware support DX10.1 (driver not ready yet), support HDMI, embedded DisplayPort output, integrated media engine supports multiple formats of HD video hardware decoding, and faster memory access.

The specifications of the Atom D2000 series have been enhanced compared to the previous Atom D400/500 series, and power consumption has also been reduced due to the introduction of a new process, and the price is slightly cheaper.

The Atom N2600/N2800 for notebooks and entry-level notebooks will all be dual-core, clocked at 1.60/1.86GHz, with 1MB of secondary cache, 3.5/6.5W of thermal design power, and an estimated price of $42/47.
