The working principle of metal proximity switch

What is a metal proximity switch

Metal induction proximity switch is a position switch that can be operated without direct mechanical contact with moving parts. When an object approaches the sensing surface of the switch to the operating distance, it does not require mechanical contact or any pressure to make the switch act, thereby driving DC electrical appliances or computer (plc) devices provide control instructions. Proximity switch is a kind of switch type sensor (namely non-contact switch). It has the characteristics of travel switch and micro switch, and has sensing performance, reliable action, stable performance, fast frequency response, long application life and anti-interference. Strong ability, and has the characteristics of waterproof, shockproof, corrosion resistance and so on. Products are inductive, capacitive, Hall, AC and DC.

An oscillating circuit with a fixed frequency, when close to metal, its oscillating frequency changes drastically. The detection circuit detects this change and pushes the display circuit or actuator to move after being amplified.
Principle of Metal Proximity Switch

When the metal is not close to the probe, the high-frequency oscillator works, and the oscillating signal is rectified by DV1 and DV2, and the DC voltage is obtained so that BG2 is turned on and BG3 is turned off, and the subsequent circuit does not work. When metal is close to the probe, due to eddy current loss, the high-frequency oscillator stops vibrating, BG2 is cut off, BG3 is turned on, the light-emitting tube in the photocoupler 4N25 emits light, and the phototransistor is turned on to switch on the circuit. Turn on the power, adjust W1, monitor BG2 with a multimeter, and make the c and e poles just completely conduct. At this time, the high-frequency oscillator is in a weak vibration state. Then use a metal object close to the probe, BG2 should be cut off immediately. Then fine-tune W2 so that BG3 is just completely turned on. At this time, the sensitivity is high and the range is large (the sensing distance is between several millimeters to tens of millimeters). Then, according to your own use, carefully adjust W1 and W2 to make the sensing distance suitable for your own use. can.

The working principle of metal proximity switch

The metal proximity switch has a magnetic control switch inside. When there is metal outside the effective range of its magnet, the magnetic control switch will act to open or close. Then it controls whether the loop controlled by it is turned on or off. There are inductive and capacitive inductive sensors, which are composed of iron cores and wire states, which convert the linear or angular displacement changes into wire states inductance changes, also known as inductive displacement sensors. The number of coil turns and material permeability of this kind of sensor are constant, and the change of its inductance is caused by the change of the geometrical size of the coil magnetic circuit caused by the displacement input.
