This circuit is used to insert between the antenna and any HF receiver, which provides adjacent channel selectivity by providing attenuation throughout the tuning range before the mixer. The HP 5082-3379 PIN diode has a very low impedance when turned on and a high impedance when the bias current is small. The NPN transistor provides more than 100 mA of current as the current source for the PIN diode. Q1 is driven through the JFET buzzer Q3 through the AGO circuit.
