Osram recently announced details of its agricultural lighting project in Italy, where LED luminaires developed by Ambra Elettronica have been used in the production of basil greenhouses. Compared to the high-pressure sodium lighting used before, not only is the energy consumption reduced by 56% and the crop production cycle is shortened by 5 days.
The luminaire manufacturer Ambra has been supplying high quality agricultural lighting products to OSRAM. The LED series for the Basil production process is the 42W AE32 and the 200W AE200 which provides greater intensity of illumination in concentrated areas.
