Asustek launches VR host to launch compact VR-Ready PC
The arrival of Virtual Reality (VR) has allowed PCs to find new springs. In particular, traditional PC makers have entered this field one after another. But the high cost of hardware has deterred the general public. If you buy an Apple computer or a VR computer at the same price, you must have a lot of children's shoes to choose the former. This is indeed a phenomenon worthy of pondering. In the current situation where the price of computer hardware is generally lowered, VR hardware is still flowing upwards, filling the current front with a super-performance card, inciting the hearts of enthusiasts. Can be loaded and practical is the primary purchase psychology of most computer enthusiasts. This is why Apple Computer still can occupy a certain computer market. So the question is, if Apple also launches VR computer, will consumers buy it? While most VR computers are still balancing performance and price, Asustek has launched a potential solution to design a compact desktop computer for VR. A VR computer that does not achieve enough frames will cause the frame rate to drop, which not only breaks immersion, but also triggers terrible VR motion sickness. The new ASUS VivoPC X is configured with: The Intel Core i5 processor, nVidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU and DDR4 RAM support displays up to 3840×2160 resolution and utilize nVideo G-Sync to reduce tearing. The PC has two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort (DVI) that can be connected to an HDTV or monitor. The combination of compact design and hardware configuration provides the performance needed to run a VR experience. The computer supports VR games, as well as 4K video and 360-degree movies. We have noticed that the Asus Vivo PC X does not use the current high-end graphics card nVidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti or even higher performance models, but instead uses the GTX 1060. According to the law of market price fluctuations of computer hardware, when a new flagship model appears, it is the time when the previous model is reduced in price. ASUS also partnered with Oculus to provide a complete "out of the box" VR experience for the included ASUS VivoPC X and Oculus Rift and Touch controllers. And support VR games such as "Super Hot VR" "Wilson's Heart" and "VR Sports Challenge". The Asus VivoPC X retails for $799 and can be purchased at Amazon and ASUS stores.
