In response to the Japanese press release on February 20th, the U.S. Patent No. 6,653,215 patent, Yiguang said that the approval can still be appealed, and has no impact on Yiguang products. Billion Light will appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC).
On July 23, 2012, Everlight Electronics filed an invalid trial request for the blue LED patent JP2735057 owned by Nichia. The Japanese Patent Office agreed to the request of Everlight and determined that five items of rights 1, 3 and 16-18 were invalid. Nichia therefore appealed to the Japanese Intellectual Property High Court, and the Intellectual Property High Court continued to maintain the decision of the original charter office on July 18, 2013. Nichia again appealed to the Supreme Court of Japan, and the Supreme Court dismissed the Japanese and Japanese appeals on February 7, 2014, maintaining the original judgment, and the case was finalized.

Since 2006, Nichia has started a series of patent intellectual rights wars against Yiguang. However, in 2011, Taiwan’s patent civil litigation and administrative litigation have respectively declared that Japan and Asia will lose their claims. Yiguang has also filed patent infringement and related lawsuits against Japan and Japan in the United States, Germany, Japan and the mainland.
